On February 18, 2024, Melinda Joyce, Patricia Lynn and Nancy Saenz, a.k.a. Sister Sister received an award on behalf of The Official Tejano Legends of Houston Chapter 9. This special award ceremony celebrated and honored Women in Music. 

Sister Sister received the Official Tejano Legends Houston Chapter 9 Certificate of Recognition for exceptional performances and outstanding achievements in music. 

Tejano Legends of Houston Chapter 9 is officially recognized by the State of Texas and is collaborating with The University of Houston Special Collections and Archives. 

Sister Sister is now officially certified as Official Tejano Legends, and they are in the University of Houston Special Collections and Archives.
